A bit of background...

It is very easy to walk into a main street store and buy an item of clothing.

But while being easy, you are also allowing others to dictate your style and
colour range - if you can find it in the right size!

I like to pick a bit from here and there and pull it together for my own
look. I don’t like being told by the big fashion houses what colour and style I
should be wearing for the next six months!! If I feel like wearing a drop waist yellow dress and that is not the current trend, then it would be easier to pick winning lotto numbers than to find that in a retail store.

And I think that is a massive plus from buying used clothing and op shopping
etc. - your yellow dress would have been the height of fashion in 1974 and
somewhere that piece will be still be in great condition, ready to shine again.
You don’t need to wait for that to be back in fashion to purchase it - it
already exists!!! I want to be a part of making that easier and also make sure
that we use the clothes we have already made, rather that continuing the
horrendous fast fashion rollercoaster we are on with it’s terrifying
environmental impact.

Someone once said to me that if an item is sitting unused where it currently
is, then it is in the wrong place - I love this idea and quite often see an item of clothing where I truly believe in the right hands it would be a showstopper.

My journey did begin with just looking for pieces for myself, but then i
started to see items that did not seem to be taken regardless of the price. I
thought that if I could just move them into another space, they would find a
home.

My style is not for everyone. My darling daughter has taught me to sometimes
look past the pieces I would normally gravitate towards (colour, pattern,
quirky) and see gorgeous things that would suit others perfectly.

I am not sure if I have an eye for finding things or I spend altogether too
much time looking, but I have a large, gorgeous wardrobe of clothes that I have sourced, mostly second-hand. People have asked about where I had got these items and then have gone on to ask me if I could look for items for them as well.

Sometimes it was very specific such as Lee jeans in a size 12 or more broad such as linen shirts in a 16 up.

As part of my site, I plan to create a wishlist section for just this thing.
This leads me back somewhat to my story of dipping my toes into onsignment selling.

I put together (what I thought) was a wide range of colours sizes styles etc
to take in and they took one look and said that my pieces were not for them,
they were more workwear than fashion and sent me on my way. For the record, I am a professional and would not wear some of these pieces to work..

I do not blame them at all, they have a certain market and sales targets to
meet. My problem is they are trying the replicate the exact some thing that the
retail stores are doing but with used clothes!! Don’t limit or second guess
peoples fashion choices based on current trends. There has to be somewhere to buy that yellow dress!!

While I was waiting at the counter at one of these stores there was a lady
and her daughter in front of me looking to consign their clothes. This lady
looked amazing. Her clothing had a timeless style - not necessarily “on trend” - but her look was carefully curated and accessorized and stunning. I would like to point out here that the look was certainly not for me or anything I would wear, but she knew what she liked, what suited her and owned it perfectly.

The clothes this lady had for sale were the same - brand name, perfect
condition in stunning fabrics - and the store took none of them!

I am very certain that there are a lot of people who would have been over
the moon to find these pieces for sale somewhere… but where is the platform for these pieces. For the off-trend, larger sizes, quirky, even classic items that have so much left to give.

This website is my way to get the pieces that I find back out into the world
be enjoyed. They come from many different origins, are in all sizes and colours and while some are no longer “quite perfect”, they still have plenty of life left.

I truly hope that you find something on here that you love...
